Last updated: 13 October 2026

1. About this policy

Omega Network Pty Ltd (we, us, our) respects your privacy. This policy explains what personal information we collect through this website, how we handle it, who we share it with, and how you can access it or make a complaint.

We handle personal information in accordance with the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles. Health information we collect from job applicants is also handled in accordance with the Health Records Act 2001 (Vic) and the Health Privacy Principles.

This policy applies to www.omeganetwork.com.au and to the online employment application form hosted on it.

2. Who we are

Omega Network Pty Ltd, 12 Centre Rd, Morwell, Victoria 3840, Australia info@omeganetwork.com.au

3. The information we collect

If you only browse the website

Our website is built on the Wix platform. Wix places cookies and collects technical information automatically, including your IP address, browser and device type, the pages you visit and how long you spend on them. This is used to keep the site working and to understand how it is used. You can control cookies through your browser settings and through the cookie notice on the site.

If you contact us through the site or by email, we collect whatever you choose to tell us.

If you apply for a job

The employment application form collects the information set out on the form itself. In summary, this includes:

  • your name, contact details, address, date of birth and right-to-work details

  • the position and location you are applying for, and your availability

  • your education, qualifications, licences and tickets

  • your employment history and referees

  • your experience with particular work conditions and equipment

  • your answers to the health and safety declaration in Section 7

  • any documents you choose to attach, such as a driver's licence, a résumé, or certificates of competency

Completing the form is voluntary, but we cannot assess an application without the information marked as required.

4. Sensitive information, including health information

Section 7 of the application form asks about injuries, illnesses, medication, workers' compensation claims and your capacity to perform the work. These answers are sensitive information, and health information, under Australian privacy law.

We collect them only with your consent, which you give by ticking the declarations and submitting the form. We collect them for one purpose: to assess whether you can safely perform the duties of the role you have applied for, and to meet our obligations under work health and safety law. We do not use them for any other purpose.

If you would prefer to discuss any part of Section 7 rather than write it on the form, contact us using the details in section 14 below.

5. Why we collect it

We collect personal information from applicants in order to:

  • assess your suitability for the role you have applied for

  • verify the information you have given us, including by contacting your referees

  • meet our obligations under work health and safety, industrial relations and anti-discrimination law

  • contact you about your application, and about other roles if you ask us to

We do not sell personal information, and we do not use it for marketing unless you have separately asked us to.

6. How your application is handled

We think applicants should know where their information actually goes. When you submit the application form:

  1. Your answers are saved to a private database on our website platform (Wix), which only our administrators can access.

  2. Any files you attach are uploaded to that platform temporarily.

  3. Your answers are then sent to a secure service which produces a completed PDF of your application and emails it to our recruitment inbox, together with your attachments.

  4. Your attachments are filed in an access-restricted folder, and the temporary copies on the website platform are then deleted.

  5. We email you a confirmation link. Clicking it confirms that the email address on your application is really yours. We record that you clicked it and when.

7. Who we share it with

We do not disclose your personal information to anyone outside Omega Network except:

  • our service providers, who host and process it on our behalf, principally Wix (website and database hosting) and Google (document generation, file storage and email). They act on our instructions and are not permitted to use your information for their own purposes.

  • your referees, whom we contact only using the details you give us, and only in connection with your application.

  • where required or authorised by law, for example in response to a lawful request from a regulator or court.

8. Storage outside Australia

Our website platform and our document and email services are provided by companies based overseas. As a result, your personal information, including the information in your application and any attachments, is stored and processed outside Australia, including in the United States and other countries where our providers operate servers.

We take reasonable steps to ensure these providers handle your information consistently with the Australian Privacy Principles, and we remain accountable for it. By submitting an application you consent to this overseas disclosure.

9. How we protect it

We take reasonable steps to protect personal information from misuse, interference, loss, and unauthorised access, modification or disclosure. These include:

  • encrypted connections (HTTPS) for everything submitted through this website

  • a private applications database that is not readable by website visitors and is restricted to administrators

  • authenticated, secret-protected communication between our website and our document service

  • an access-restricted folder for identity documents, shared only with the people who need it

  • deletion of temporary copies of your attachments once they have been filed

  • least-privilege access for the automated service that processes applications

No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

10. Drafts saved in your browser

So that you do not lose your work, the application form saves your answers in your own web browser as you go, and offers to restore them if you come back within 14 days. These drafts never reach us and are not stored on our systems.

They do, however, include your Section 7 answers. If you are using a shared or public computer, use the "Start fresh" button when you finish, or clear your browser data, so that the next person cannot see them.

11. How long we keep it
  • Successful applicants: your application becomes part of your employee record and is retained for the period required by the Fair Work Act 2009 (Cth) and related laws.

  • Unsuccessful applicants: we keep your application for 12 months so that we can consider you for other roles, and then destroy or de-identify it.

  • Identity documents such as driver's licence scans: we keep these for 12 months and then delete them.

You may ask us to delete your application earlier, and we will do so unless we are required to keep it.

12. Accessing and correcting your information

You can ask us for a copy of the personal information we hold about you, and ask us to correct it if it is wrong, incomplete or out of date. Contact us using the details in section 14.

We will respond within a reasonable period, usually within 30 days. We do not charge for making a request. If we refuse access or correction, we will tell you why in writing.

13. Complaints

If you believe we have mishandled your personal information, please contact us first using the details

below. We will acknowledge your complaint and aim to resolve it within 30 days.
